What G CIN is used for?

  • It is used to treat adults 18 years or older with bronchitis or pneumonia (lung infections)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to Gemifloxacin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have low potassium or magnesium levels
  • have a slow heart beat called bradycardia
  • have had a recent heart attack
  • have a history of seizures or epilepsy
  • have kidney problems
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask our doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • It can make you dizzy. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you know how this medicine affects you

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • quinolone (used to treat bacterial infections)
  • antiarrhythmics (used to treat irregular heart beats)
  • antipsychotics, tricyclic antidepressants (used to treat psychosis, depression)
  • corticosteroids
  • furosemide (used to treat congestive heart failure)
  • hydrochlorothiazide (used to treat blood pressure)
  • coumadin, warfarin (used to prevent blood clots)
  • antacids that contain magnesium or aluminum
  • ferrous sulfate (iron)
  • multivitamin that contains zinc or other metals
  • didanosine (used to treat HIV/AIDS)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the medicine whole

If you take more G CIN

  • If you accidentally take more medicine than your prescribed dose, contact your doctor for advice

If you forget to take G CIN

  • If you miss a dose of this medicine take it as soon as you remember. Do not take double dose for the missed one

If you stop taking G CIN

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • a rare heart problem known as prolongation of the QTc interval
  • heart palpitations (a change in the way your heart beats)
  • a loss of consciousness (fainting spells)
  • hives
  • trouble breathing, wheezing
  • tendon problems including pain, swelling (tendonitis) or rupture (chills, shoulder or hand tendons)
  • diarrhoea
  • central nervous system problems including body shakes (tremors), restless feeling,  lightheaded feelings, confusion, and hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that are not there)
  • diarrhoea 
  • rash
  • nausea,vomiting
  • headache
  • stomach pain
  • dizziness
  • taste in your mouth
