What FUROBID is used for?
FUROBID is used to,
- treat upper or lower respiratory tract infection
- treat urinary tract infection
- treat skin and soft tissue infection
- prevent infections during surgery
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- Take FUROBID after food
- Swallow the tablet whole with some water
- Do not chew, crush or split the tablet
- The dose and the course of treatment depends on the severity and type of infection
Adults
- The recommended dose of FUROBID is 250 mg to 500 mg twice daily
Children
- The recommended dose of FUROBID is 10 mg/kg (to a maximum of 125 mg) to 15 mg/kg (to a maximum of 250 mg) twice daily
If you take more FUROBID
- If you take more FUROBID you are more likely to have fits (seizures)
- Contact your doctor or your nearest hospital immediately
If you forget to take FUROBID
- Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Just take your next dose at the usual time
If you stop taking FUROBID
- It is important that you take the full course of FUROBID
- Do not stop unless your doctor advises you to

- severe allergic reaction marked by raised and itchy rash, swelling of the face or mouth causing difficulty in breathing
- skin rash, which may blister (central dark spot surrounded by a paler area, with a dark ring around the edge)
- a widespread rash with blisters and peeling skin
- fungal infections
- severe diarrhoea
- high temperature (fever), chills, headache, muscle pain and skin rash (Jarisch-Herxheimer reaction)
