FRAGMIN 10000IU contains Dalteparin which belongs to a group of medicines called anti-thrombotic, which helps in the prevention of blood clots formation by thinning the blood. This medicine is used to prevent blood clots (venous thromboembolism).
The development of blood clots in the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism), e.g. after surgery, prolonged bed rest or in patients with certain types of cancer is called venous thromboembolism. FRAGMIN 10000IU is a sterile, low molecular weight heparin with antithrombotic properties which works by decreasing the clotting ability of the blood.
FRAGMIN 10000IU will be administered by a doctor or nurse. Before receiving this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problem, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. Your doctor will administer the right dose depends on your child’s age and body weight. The common side effects are bleeding or pain at the injection site.
