What FOSAPORT 150MG is used for?

  • It is used in combination with other medicines to prevent nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy (cancer treatment)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have liver disease
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine is not recommended to children under 6 months of age
  • Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine it may cause dizziness or sleepiness

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • pimozide (used to treat psychiatric illness)
  • terfenadine and astemizole (used for hay fever and other allergic conditions)
  • cisapride (used for treating digestive problems)
  • birth control medicines
  • alfentanil, fentanyl (used to treat pain)
  • quinidine (used to treat an irregular heartbeat)
  • drugs used to treat cancer
  • ergotamine and diergotamine (used for treating migraines)
  • warfarin, acenocoumarol (used  as a blood thinners)
  • drugs used to treat infections
  • phenytoin (used to treat seizures)
  • drugs used to produce calmness or help you sleep
  • nefazodone (used to treat depression)
  • diltiazem (used to treat high blood pressure)
  • drugs used for anxiety disorders
  • tolbutamide (used to treat diabetes)
  • This medicine will be given to you by a doctor or nurse
  • It is given intravenous infusion (a drip) approximately 30 minutes before you start the chemotherapy treatment

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • hives, rash, itching, difficulty breathing or swallowing, or a serious decrease of blood pressure
  • infusion site reactions at or near the infusion site (pain, swelling and redness)
  • constipation, indigestion
  • headache, tiredness
  • loss of appetite
  • hiccups
  • increased amount of liver enzymes in your blood
  • dizziness, sleepiness
  • acne, rash
  • anxiousness
  • burping, nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach pain, dry mouth, flatulence
  • increased painful or burning urination
  • weakness, reddening of the face or skin, hot flush
  • fast or irregular heartbeats
  • blood pressure increased
  • fever with increased risk of infection
  • lowering of red blood cells
  • infusion site pain, redness, itching, vein inflammation
  • sensitivity of the skin to sun, excessive sweating, oily skin, sores on skin
  • stevens johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis (rare severe skin reaction)
  • euphoria (feeling of extreme happiness), disorientation
  • bacterial or fungal infection
  • frequent urination, passing more urine than normal, presence of sugar or blood in urine
  • chest discomfort, swelling, change in the manner of walking
  • cough, mucus behind throat, throat irritation, sneezing, sore throat
  • eye discharge and itching
  • ringing in the ear
  • muscle spasms, muscle weakness
  • excessive thirst
  • slow heartbeat, heart and blood vessel disease
  • lowering of white blood cells, low sodium levels in the blood, weight loss
  • hardening of site of infusion
