INTRODUCTION

ESLO contains S-Amlodipine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensives. It is used to treat essential hypertension (abnormal high blood pressure which occurs mostly due to obesity, family history or unhealthy diet) and angina pectoris (type of chest pain due to reduced blood flow to the heart).

ESLO is not recommended for use in patients with certain heart problems. ESLO should be used with caution in patients having liver and kidney impairment. ESLO should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if clearly advised by the doctor.

ESLO should be used with caution in elderly patients so, consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effects of taking ESLO are headache, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, indigestion and visual disturbances, etc. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

USES OF ESLO

HOW ESLO WORKS

ESLO reduces blood pressure by a direct relaxant effect on smooth muscle of blood vessels. In angina, it works by reducing the pressure against which the heart works, stabilizing the heart rate and thus reducing energy consumption and oxygen requirements by the heart muscle. It also probably dilatates the main coronary arteries and increases oxygen delivery by heart muscle in patients with coronary artery spasm.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take ESLO as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Correct dosage and duration of ESLO will be prescribed to you by your doctor depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
