EOFIL FORTE TABLET is a combination of Chlorpheniramine and Diethylcarbamazine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antiallergics and Filaricides respectively. It is indicated in the treatment of filariasis, tropical pulmonary eosinophilia and loa-loa (eye worm).
Filariasis is a parasitic disease which affects the lymphatic system of the body and tropical pulmonary eosinophilia a clinical manifestation of filariasis in which these parasites reach the lung tissues.
Prior to the treatment with EOFIL FORTE TABLET your doctor might ask you to undergo several diagnostic tests to understand the existing condition.
EOFIL FORTE TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having heart or kidney disease and have a history of river blindness (onchocerciasis) involving the eyes. EOFIL FORTE TABLET should be used with caution in patients having liver or lung diseases, epilepsy, very high blood pressure and increased pressure in the eye.
EOFIL FORTE TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breast-feeding women. Caution must be exercised while using the medicine in children and not recommended for use in elderly patients especially those with heart or kidney disease.
The most common side effects of taking EOFIL FORTE TABLET are nausea, dry mouth, headache, dizziness or tiredness. Ask for your doctor’s advice if any of these worsen or doesn’t improve.

EOFIL FORTE TABLET helps in treating parasitic infections where Chlorpheniramine is an H1 Antihistamine which acts by blocking certain chemical substances in the body called histamine which is responsible for allergic symptoms. Diethylcarbamazine is a Filaricide which is thought to destroy the microfilariae (parasites) and also activate the immune system to further kill the parasites.
Take EOFIL FORTE TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, condition and body weight.
Nausea and vomiting:
Take this medicine with or just after a meal or a snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat oil rich, fried or spicy food. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Headache:
Try to take rest and don’t involve yourself in exertive activities. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Dry mouth:
Sip water regularly and other sugar free liquids. Do not use mouthwashes that contain alcohol because they can make your mouth dry, use mouthwash that is used only for dry mouth. Limit your caffeine intake. Avoid smoking or using tobacco products. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
EOFIL FORTE TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it is not known if EOFIL FORTE TABLET affects the developing baby. Consult your doctor before taking it.
EOFIL FORTE TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it is not known if EOFIL FORTE TABLET passes through mother’s milk. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel drowsy and sleepy after taking EOFIL FORTE TABLET.
Avoid the use of alcohol while taking EOFIL FORTE TABLET as it may cause drowsiness and increased effects of alcohol.
EOFIL FORTE TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with kidney problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.
EOFIL FORTE TABLET should be used with caution in patients having liver disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not take EOFIL FORTE TABLET if you are allergic to Chlorpheniramine or Diethylcarbamazine.

Overdosage:
