ENPRED contains Difluprednate which belongs to a group of medicines called Corticosteroids. It is used to treat inflammation and pain associated with cataract surgery and endogenous anterior uveitis (inflammation in the middle part of the eye).
Corticosteroid inhibits the inflammatory response to a variety of inciting agents and may delay or slow healing. It also inhibits edema, fibrin deposition, capillary dilation, leukocyte migration, capillary proliferation, fibroblast proliferation, deposition of collagen, and scar formation associated with inflammation.
Before using ENPRED inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems, are pregnant or breastfeeding. The common side effects are burning sensation, eye irritation and watery eyes. Avoid touching your eyelids or surrounding areas with the dropper tip of the bottle. If you wear contact lenses, remove them before using this medicine, do not wear a contact lens if your eye is red.
ENPRED stimulates the production of certain proteins that prevents the production of other substances that are part of the inflammatory process and reduces the pain and inflammation of cataract surgery and uveitis.
Always use ENPRED as instructed by your doctor. Keep bottle tightly closed when not in use.
Eye irritation:
Place a cold cloth above your closed eyes two to three times a day for five minutes.
ENPRED should be used with caution in pregnant women only if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus and mother. Consult your doctor for advice.
