  • It is used to treat Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have liver or kidney disease
  • have peripheral neuropathy
  • has ever suffered from inflammation of the pancreas
  • has diabetes
  • Consult your doctor for advice before taking this medicine during pregnancy
  • This medicine can pass into breast milk and it is recommended that HIV infected women taking this medicine do not breast-feed their infants under any circumstances in order to avoid transmission of HIV
  • If you are pregnant, or breastfeeding think you may be pregnant, or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • Consult your doctor before giving this medicine to the children
  • Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine since it may cause drowsiness or headache

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • rifampicin
  • medicines used to treat infection
  • oral contraceptives
  • drugs used to treat malaria
  • drugs used to treat epilepsy
  • warfarin (medicine for prophylaxis of blot clots)
  • doxorubicin (anti-cancer medicine)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as described by your doctor
  • The dose is based on your age, body weight and disease condition

If you take more EMTRI JUNIOR

  • If you take more of this medicine, contact the doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take EMTRI JUNIOR

  • If you accidentally miss to take a dose, take the next regular dose as scheduled time
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses

If you stop taking EMTRI JUNIOR

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • serious hepatic injuries
  • headache, nausea and vomiting
  • abdominal pain, diarrhoea and fatigue
  • dyspepsia
  • fever, rash (red, raised or itchy)
  • tingling in the limbs, joint pain, muscle pain and other muscle disorders
  • dizziness, drowsiness
  • difficulty in sleeping
  • depression
  • hair loss
  • anaemia (low red blood cell count) and neutropenia (low white blood cell count)
  • loss of appetite
  • flatulence
  • inflammation of the pancreas, inflammation of the liver (hepatitis), yellowing of the skin
  • cough, feeling anxious
  • general weakness
  • decrease of platelets (blood cells important for blood clotting)
  • lactic acidosis
  • breakdown of muscle tissue
  • breast enlargement in male
  • pure red cell aplasia
