INTRODUCTION

ELMAX PLUS TABLET contains a combination of Albendazole and Ivermectin, which belongs to a group of medicines called Anthelmintics. It is used to treat parasitic and worm infestations. Parasitic worm infections are intestinal worm infections that are caused by the ingestion of contaminated food and water.

Before taking this ELMAX PLUS TABLET inform your doctor if you have a decreased blood count, severe liver disease, kidney or heart problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.

The common side effects are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain and skin rashes. Consult your doctor immediately if any of your symptoms get worse.

HOW ELMAX PLUS TABLET WORKS

ELMAX PLUS TABLET works against the parasite by preventing it from consuming glucose, depleting its energy stores and also causing the insect to become paralysed, causing it to die.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take this ELMAX PLUS TABLET as instructed by your doctor.

For Tablet: Swallow ELMAX PLUS TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse ELMAX PLUS TABLET in the specified quantity of water as mentioned on the label. Consume the mixture immediately after reconstitution.

For Chewable Tablet: Chew ELMAX PLUS TABLET thoroughly and swallow or as directed by your doctor.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Diarrhea

Drink lots of fluids, like water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take medicines on your own to treat diarrhea without consulting your doctor. Consult your doctor if your symptom gets worse or persist.

Nausea And Vomiting

Get adequate rest. Drink lots of fluids, especially water. Have small sips if you feel sick. Eat when you feel like it – you do not need to eat or avoid any specific foods. Consult your doctor if your symptom gets worse or persist.

Stomach Pain

Place a warm water bottle on your abdomen. Soak in a warm bath and consume plenty of water and clear drinks. Consult your doctor if your symptom gets worse or persist.

There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in pregnant women hence ELMAX PLUS TABLET should not be used during pregnancy. However, consult your doctor for advice.

BREASTFEEDING

ELMAX PLUS TABLET should be used with caution by breastfeeding mothers as it may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor before taking ELMAX PLUS TABLET.

LIVER
Use with Caution

ELMAX PLUS TABLET should be used with caution if you have liver disease, your dose will be adjusted if needed. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY
Contraindicated

Do not take ELMAX PLUS TABLET if you are allergic to Albendazole or Ivermectin.

USE IN PEDIATRICS

OTHERS

Before taking ELMAX PLUS TABLET, inform your doctor if you have or had:

  • decrease in blood count
  • seizures
  • bone marrow suppression

  • dexamethasone (used to treat inflammatory conditions)
  • theophylline (treats breathing problems)
  • warfarin (treats blood clots)

If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
