INTRODUCTION

EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) is a combination of Diclofenac, Menthol, Methyl Salicylate, and Oleum Lini which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-steroidal Anti-inflammatory Drug (NSAID), Cooling agents, Analgesics and Emollient respectively. It is used to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation due to musculoskeletal disorders such as sprains, strains, tendonitis, bursitis, hand, neck and shoulder pain, sciatica, muscle stiffness, joint pain, back ache and lumbago.

Avoid exposure to sunlight after applying EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL). It is not recommended for use in patients who have gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatic porphyria, fluid retention, heart failure, and hypertension. Before using EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) inform your doctor if you have anemia and asthma. EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in women who are pregnant, especially in the third trimester of pregnancy and it should be used with caution in breastfeeding women.

Caution must be exercised while using EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) in elderly patients. The most common side effects of using EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) are skin irritation, redness of the skin, rashes, dermatitis, burning or stinging sensation at the site of application. Consult your doctor’s advice if any of these above side effects worsen or persists for a longer duration.

It is used to relieve pain, swelling and inflammation due to:

HOW EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) WORKS

EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) helps in relieving pain and swelling whereas Diclofenac belongs to NSAID that causes relief in pain and inflammation by inhibiting the factors that cause inflammation and pain called prostaglandins. Methyl salicylate acts by dilating the blood vessels and increasing blood flow. It causes irritation of the skin and because of counter-irritation, there is a sensation of warmth and relief in musculoskeletal pain. Menthol acts by acting as an irritant and imparts coolness to the skin and then warmth. Oleum lini is a plant-based oil that reduces swelling and improves blood circulation.  

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Gently apply EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) on the affected area. Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

PREGNANCY

BREASTFEEDING
Contraindicated

EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended to use in breastfeeding women as it may excrete in breast milk. Consult your doctor before using it.

LIVER
Contraindicated

EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in patients with hepatic porphyria. Consult your doctor before using.

ALLERGY
Contraindicated

Do not use EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) if you are allergic to Diclofenac, Menthol, Methyl Salicylate, Oleum Lini, or any other ingredients of this medicine.

LUNGS
Contraindicated

EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in patients with asthma. Consult your doctor before using.

HEART DISEASE
Contraindicated

EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL) is not recommended for use in patients having heart diseases such as heart failure or hypertension. Consult your doctor before using.

USE IN PEDIATRICS

Overdosage:

In case of accidental ingestion or too much application of EGFLAM GEL(TOPICAL), consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
