What EFFENAC AB is used for?

It is used to treat:

  • Asthma
  • Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • are allergic to EFFENAC AB or any other ingredients of this medicine

  • have acute myocardial infarction
  • are a smoker
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • allopurinol (used to treat gout)
  • carbamazepine, phenytoin, barbiturates (used to treat epilepsy)
  • reserpine, propranolol (used to treat hypertension)
  • frusemide (used to treat heart problems)
  • cimetidine (used to treat ulcer)
  • azithromycin (used to treat bacterial infection)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • The dose may vary depending upon the age and individual patient conditions
  • This medicine should be swallowed whole with glass full of water
  • Do not crush or chew the tablet
  • It is preferably taken after meals

If you take more EFFENAC AB

  • If you take too many EFFENAC AB or if someone else has taken your medicine, talk to your doctor immediately and you may need medical attention
  • Symptoms of over dosage are: nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, flatulence, sleep disturbances

If you forget to take EFFENAC AB

  • Take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is nearly time for the next dose, skip the missed dose. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Never take two doses on the same day

If you stop taking EFFENAC AB

  • Without doctor advice do not stop taking EFFENAC AB

  • difficulty in breathing
  • swelling of the eyes, ears, and inside of nose

  • numbness of the hands

  • changes in blood pressure
  • increased heartbeat
  • unusual tiredness and weakness
