INTRODUCTION

DWEET 3 DROPS contains Cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3) which belongs to the group of medicines called Vitamin D analogs. It is used in children for the treatment of vitamin D deficiency in hypophosphataemic rickets (disorder of bone mineralization due to defects in renal handling of phosphorus) and osteomalacia (softening of the bones), postgastrectomy (gastric surgery) and intestinal malabsorption osteomalacia.

Also used in osteomalacia associated with prolonged use of anticonvulsants and other hepatic microsomal enzyme-inducing drugs and hepatobiliary disorders.

Along with this treatment, your child’s doctor might advise your child to eat and drink foods that are rich in calcium. Your child’s doctor might want your child to take certain blood tests prior to the treatment to understand the existing condition.

DWEET 3 DROPS is not recommended for use in children with high levels of calcium or vitamin D3 in the blood, malabsorption syndrome, renal osteodystrophy (kidney disease weakening the bones) with hyperphosphataemia.

Before giving DWEET 3 DROPS to your child, inform your child’s doctor if your child have impaired kidney or heart function, heart or liver disease, sarcoidosis (a multisystem chronic inflammatory condition which can affect your lungs, heart and kidneys), hyperlipidemia (high lipid levels) and high levels of phosphorous in the blood.
