What DUOMATE is used for?

It is used to treat:

  • asthma
  • symptoms of severe chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD)

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • are allergic to any other ingredients of this medicine
  • have heart problems
  • have high blood pressure
  • have an overactive thyroid gland
  • have low blood levels of potassium
  • have liver or kidney disease
  • have diabetes
  • have tumour of the adrenal gland (known as a phaeochromocytoma)
  • have or had tuberculosis (TB)
  • are an alcoholic
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine
  • This medicine is not recommended in children and adolescents below 18 years of age
  •  Do not drive or operate any machines while using this medicine since it may cause dizziness or trembling

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • ritonavir, cobicistat
  • beta blockers (used to treat many conditions including heart problems, high blood pressure or glaucoma (increased pressure in the eyes)
  • theophylline, aminophylline or steroid (medicines used to treat asthma)
  • quinidine, disopyramide, procainamide
  • terfenadine (to treat allergic reactions)
  • phenelzine and isocarboxazid, amitriptyline and imipramine or phenothiazines (used to psychotic disorders)
  • levodopa used to treat Parkinson’s Disease
  • levothyroxine used to treat an underactive thyroid gland
  • diuretics
  • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • It is for inhalation use only

If you use more  DUOMATE

  • If you use more of this medicine, talk to your doctor or go to your nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to use DUOMATE

  • If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember it, however if it is nearly time for the next dose skip the missed dose
  • Do not use double dose 

If you Stop using DUOMATE

  • Do not stop using this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • shortness of breath, cough and wheezing
  • skin itching, skin rash, reddening of the skin, swelling of the skin or of mucous membranes especially of the eyes, face, lips and throat
  • trembling
  • pneumonia (infection of the lung)
  • fever or chills, increased mucus production, change in mucus colour
  • increased cough or increased breathing difficulties
  • cold-like symptoms, sore throat
  • fungal infections (of the mouth and throat)
  • hoarseness, cough
  • unusually fast or slow heart beat
  • crushing chest pain
  • headache
  • nausea
  • feeling tired or nervous
  • low level of cortisol in your urine or in your blood
  • high level of potassium, glucose, fats in your blood
