DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION contains Doxycycline which belongs to the groups of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used for the treatment of various bacterial infections like that of respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin, eyes, digestive system, bones, blood, etc. DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION is also used to treat sexually transmitted infections (Ex. syphilis, gonorrhoea, chlamydia), plague (spreads through rats), cholera (spreads through contaminated water), brucellosis (spreads from animals to human by eating raw dairy products), anthrax (spreads from sheep or cattle), etc.
DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION can also be used to prevent malaria in short-term travellers (<4 months) to areas with chloroquine- and/or pyrimethamine sulphadoxine-resistant strains. It is advised to reduce sun exposure and to use fully covering clothes and sunscreen while going out as there is a chance of getting light sensitivity during treatment with DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION.
Before receiving DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have myasthenia gravis, systemic lupus erythematosus, history of intracranial hypertension or oral candidiasis, liver or kidney problems, porphyria or if you are an overweight woman of childbearing age.
There are no adequate and well-controlled studies on the use of DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION in pregnant women. DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION should be used in breastfeeding women only if your doctor finds it necessary. DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION should be used in children (8 years of age or less) only if the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION treatment. The most common side effects of receiving DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION are mild diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, light sensitivity, skin rash or itching, headaches and tooth discoloration. Consult your doctor if any of the symptoms worsen with time.

DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION reduces bacterial infection by blocking protein synthesis of bacteria and thus preventing its growth.
DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Do not try to self-administer the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop receiving DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION and contact doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea and Vomiting:
Avoid eating fried and greasy food. Take simple, light, small meals at frequent intervals. Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated always. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of water, fluids and electrolytes such as ORS and stay hydrated. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Headache:
Drink plenty of fluids and stay hydrated. Try to be tension free and relaxed. Take adequate sleep and rest. Avoid consumption of alcohol. Apply pain balm if required. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Light sensitivity:
Reduce exposure to sunlight. While going out, wear fully covering clothes and apply sunscreen with high SPF. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.
Skin rashes:
Do not scratch on rashes. Apply mild moisturizers if needed and avoid hot showers. Take an oatmeal bath. If symptom persists, contact your doctor.

What precautions have to be followed when receiving DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION?
Use of DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION may result in overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms, including fungi. If this occurs, it should be discontinued. Before you take DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION, tell your doctor if you are using, have recently used or might use any other medicines. Before receiving DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION, tell your doctor if you are allergic to doxycycline, minocycline, tetracycline, other medications or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Can DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION cause diarrhea?
Diarrhea is a common problem caused by DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION, which usually ends when the medicine is discontinued. Sometimes after starting the treatment, you might develop watery and bloody stools (with or without stomach cramps and fever) even as late as two or more months after having taken the last dose of DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION. If this occurs, you should tell the doctor as soon as possible.
Does DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION cause tooth problems?
Yes. The use of DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION during last half of pregnancy, infancy and childhood up to the age of 8 years (tooth development phases) may cause permanent discolouration of the teeth (yellow-grey-brown). Enamel hypoplasia (thin or absent enamel) has also been reported. Consult your doctor for further queries.
Can DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION be used to treat syphilis?
Yes. DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION can be used to treat sexually transmitted diseases like syphilis. The dose and duration of treatment will be determined by your doctor according to your age, body weight and severity of infection.
Does DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION cause sensitivity to light?
Yes. Photosensitivity (light sensitivity) manifested by a worsening sunburn reaction has been observed in some patients receiving DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION. Patients prone to be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light should know that this reaction can occur with DOXT 100MG COMBIPACK INJECTION or similar medicines and treatment should be discontinued at the first evidence of skin redness.
