DOLONEX INJECTION contains Piroxicam, which belongs to the group of medicines called Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs. It is used in the treatment of musculoskeletal disorders (injuries or disorders of muscle, ligaments, joints, and tendons characterised by pain, stiffness, swelling, and restricted movements), acute gout (a form of arthritis with severe pain, redness, and tenderness in joints), postoperative trauma pain (pain due to trauma after surgical intervention), and primary dysmenorrhea (sudden cramping pain in the lower abdomen occurring before or during menstruation).
DOLONEX INJECTION exerts its anti-inflammatory actions by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase-1, thereby, blocking the release of prostaglandins (a substance produced during injury and inflammation that causes pain and swelling) and other chemical mediators that cause pain and swelling. Your doctor may advise you to take relevant tests before recommending this medicine.
DOLONEX INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with liver, kidney, or heart problems. DOLONEX INJECTION is not recommended for use by a pregnant or breastfeeding woman. It should be used with caution in children aged 12 years and older. The most common side effects by receiving this medicine are nausea (feeling sick), vomiting, and stomach pain. Contact your doctor if your symptom does not improve.

Take this medicine with meals or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Try to avoid oil-rich or spicy foods, sugary snacks, and drinks. Try to drink liquids slowly along with your meals or in between meals. Consult your doctor if your symptom is not improving.
Stomach pain:
Try to rest and relax. Try to have smaller and more frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. Take your physician’s advice.
DOLONEX INJECTION is not recommended for use by pregnant women. Consult your doctor before receiving this medicine.
DOLONEX INJECTION is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women as it may pass to the baby through breast milk. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
The effect of DOLONEX INJECTION on the ability to drive or operate machinery has not been studied.
