DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION contains Docetaxel which belongs to the group of medicines called Taxoids. DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION is used in the treatment of breast cancer, special forms of lung cancer (non-small cell lung cancer), prostate cancer, gastric (stomach) cancer and/or head and neck cancer in affected individuals.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to docetaxel. It is not recommended for use in patients with low number of white blood cells and in patients suffering from severe liver disease.
Before receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you are alcohol dependent and/or suffering from epilepsy, heart and/or kidney diseases.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION is not recommended for use during pregnancy unless it is clearly necessary. Women of child-bearing potential should use effective contraception method to avoid getting pregnant while receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION. The medicine is also not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) which is also advised to be used to with caution in elderly patients (aged above 65 years) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION are infection, hair loss, headache, loss of appetite, indigestion, nausea, vomiting and/or constipation. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION works by interfering with the microtubule structures in the cell (substance which aids cancer cells to divide and multiply) thus inhibiting the growth of cancer cells and preventing its spread in affected individuals.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous infusion. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION and contact doctor immediately if you experience any of the following
Headache:
If DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION. If it lasts more than a week or severe, inform your doctor.
Indigestion:
Try to have smaller and more frequent meals and drink slowly. Reduce consumption of coffee, cola, tea or alcohol and lose weight if you are obese. Try to avoid smoking and don’t have rich, fatty or spicy foods. Consult your doctor and inform if the symptom does not improve.
Nausea and vomiting:
Receive DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if symptom gets worse.
Constipation:
Try to eat high-fiber foods such as vegetables, cereals, fresh fruit and drink plenty of water. Involve in regular exercise (going for a daily walk or run) and if this does not help, consult and inform your doctor for receiving alternate treatments for constipation.
Diarrhea:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea. Consult your doctor and inform them if the symptom gets worse.
Dry mouth:
Try to drink plenty of cold water and sip on cold unsweetened drinks and use lip balm if your lips are dry. Brush your teeth twice a day and use mouthwash. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
Tiredness:
Make sure you take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Avoid or limit the consumption of alcohol. Try to receive DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION at a time when you can sit down (or lie down) when the symptoms are at their worst. Avoid driving or using tools or machinery until you feel well.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and get enough sleep. Try to avoid driving or operating any tools or machines while you feel dizzy. Limit consumption of alcohol, as it can aggravate dizziness. Consult and inform your doctor if the symptom worsens.

Do not drive and operate machines if DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION affects your ability to drive or operate any machines.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION since it may cause harmful effects to the patient.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before receiving DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION.
DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with serious liver disease. It should be used with caution in patients with other liver diseases. Consult doctor before receiving the medicine.
Do not receive DOCEZAP 80MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Docetaxel and/or any other ingredients in this medicine.
