What DILOSYN is used for?

It is used for the treatment of:

  • allergic rhinitis, atopic dermatitis (effective in relieving pruritic symptoms)
  • drug-induced rash, eczema, neurodermatitis, pruritus ani, pruritus of vulva and urticaria
  • symptomatic relief of contact dermatitis due to poison ivy and pityriasis rosea

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have bone marrow depression
  • have jaundice
  • have asthma
  • have acute or chronic respiratory impairment (in children)
  • have bladder neck obstruction
  • have cardiovascular disease
  • have liver dysfunction
  • have a history of ulcer disease or stenosing peptic ulcer
  • have pyloroduodenal obstruction
  • are elderly
  • have epilepsy
  • have acute porphyria
  • have urinary retention, glaucoma or pyloroduodenal obstruction
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine is not recommended for children less than 2 years of age
  • Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine as it may cause drowsiness

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • belladonna
  • betel nut
  • drugs used to treat depression
  • evening primrose
  • drugs used to help relieve moderate to severe pain
  • levomethadyl (narcotic analgesics)
  • phenylalanine
  • teduglutide
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Shake well before use

If you take more DILOSYN

  • If you take more than the prescribed dose, contact your doctor or go to the nearest hospital

If you forget to take DILOSYN

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember on that day.
  • Do not take double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking DILOSYN

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
