What DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG is used for?

It is used 

  • to prevent blood clots forming following a heart attack or stroke or to help prevent heart attacks and strokes in patients who have previously suffered from these conditions
  •  to lower lipids known as cholesterol and triglycerides in the blood when a low-fat diet and life style changes on their own have failed

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you,

  • are allergic to DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG or any of the ingredients
  • are allergic to other salicylates or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs
  • have had an asthma attack or swelling of some parts of the body e.g. face, lips, throat or tongue (angioedema) after taking salicylates or NSAIDs
  • have or have ever had an ulcer in your stomach
  • have ever had the problem of your blood not clotting properly
  • are suffering from gout
  • have severe liver or kidney problems
  • have high blood pressure
  • have any severe respiratory failure
  • have heavy menstrual periods
  • have a planned or recent surgery (including dental) in the next seven days
  • have an under-active thyroid gland (hypothyroidism)
  • have had previous muscular problems during treatment with other lipid-lowering medicines (e.g. other ‘-statin’ or ‘-fibrate’ medicines)

DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG with food, drink and alcohol

  •  Do not take more than one or two small glasses of grapefruit juice per day because large quantities of grapefruit juice can change the effects of DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG
  •  Avoid drinking too much alcohol while taking this medicine. Drinking alcohol may possibly increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and prolong bleeding time

Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including

  • blood thinning medicines (e.g. warfarin, heparin, phenindione and clopidogrel)
  • organ rejection after transplantation (e.g. ciclosporin, tacrolimus)
  • high blood pressure (e.g. diuretics and ACE-inhibitors)
  • regulation of the heart beat (digoxin)
  • manic-depressive illness (lithium)
  • pain and inflammation (e.g. anti-inflammatory medicines such as ibuprofen, or steroids)
  • gout (e.g. probenecid)
  • epilepsy (valproate, phenytoin, carbamazepine)
  • glaucoma (acetazolamide)
  • cancer or rheumatoid arthritis (e.g. methotrexate, paclitaxel)
  • diabetes (e.g. glibenclamide, repaglinide)
  • depression (selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors (SSRIs) such as sertraline or paroxetine, moclobemide)
  • hormone replacement therapy when the adrenal glands or pituitary gland have been destroyed or removed, or to treat inflammation, including rheumatic diseases and inflammation of the intestines (corticosteroids)
  • iron salts (for treatment of iron deficiency anaemia), carbonates (treatment of peptic ulcer and reflux), alkali hydroxides (antacids)
  • omeprazole or esomeprazole, medicines to treat upset stomach
  • fluconazole or voriconazole, medicines to treat fungal infections
  • medicine to treat HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) infections
  • some calcium channel blockers used for angina or high blood pressure, e.g. amlodipine, diltiazem; medicines to regulate your heart rhythm e.g. digoxin, verapamil, amiodarone
  • some medicines used in the treatment of hepatitis C e.g. telaprevir
  • medicine called fusidic acid, (a medicine for bacterial infection) orally or by injection. The combination of fusidic acid and Atorvastatin can lead to serious muscle problems (rhabdomyolysis)

  • They should be taken orally with a glass of water
  • It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food

If you take more DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG

  • If you accidently take more than your usual daily dose, contact your doctor or nearest hospital for advice

 If you forget to take DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG

  • If you miss a dose, wait until it is time for your next dose, then go on as normal. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking DEPLATT CV FORTE 75/20/150MG

  • Do not stop the treatment unless your doctor tells you so

  • sudden wheezing
  • swelling of your lips, face or body
  • rash, fainting or difficulties swallowing
  • reddening of the skin with blisters or peeling and may be associated with a high fever and joint pains
  • unusual bleeding, such as coughing up blood, blood in your vomit or urine, or black stools


  • muscle weakness, tenderness or pain


  • signs of liver problems such as yellowing of the skin and/or the eyes (jaundice)
  • fever, signs of infection or extreme tiredness
