INTRODUCTION

DENSAID QA contains Diclofenac which belongs to a group of medicines called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) which reduces pain and inflammation. It is indicated for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura in adults and does not prevent or lessen the number of migraines you have, and it is not for other types of headaches.

Diclofenac is a NSAID which exhibits anti-inflammatory analgesic and antipyretic activities. It involves inhibition of cyclooxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) and it is a potent inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis in vitro. Prostaglandins sensitize afferent nerves and potentiate the action of bradykinin in inducing pain and mediators of inflammation. Diclofenac is an inhibitor of prostaglandin synthesis; its mode of action may be due to decrease of prostaglandins in peripheral tissues.

Always take DENSAID QA exactly as directed by your doctor. Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have liver, kidney or heart problems, pregnant women and breastfeeding mothers. It is not suitable for children and adolescents below 18 years of age. Do not take this medicine with food, it may cause reduction in effectiveness compared to taking on an empty stomach.
