What DELPODINE M is used for?

It is used to,

  • relieve the symptoms that occur with hay fever (seasonal allergic rhinitis) such as sneezing, itchy, runny or blocked nose and itchy, red and watery eyes
  • treat asthmatic attack

Talk to your doctor before taking DELPODINE M, if you:

  • are allergic to DELPODINE M or any other ingredients of this medicine
  • have your inhaled rescue medicine for asthma attacks with you
  • have problems with your liver or kidneys
  • have or ever had heart disease, since this kind of medicine may lead to a fast or irregular heartbeat
  • Talk to your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or breast feeding or think you might be pregnant or planning to become pregnant
  • Do not give this medicine to children less than 6 years of age
  • DELPODINE M can make you feel drowsiness or dizziness and it sometimes makes people fall asleep very suddenly without warning. If you could be affected, do not drive, do not operate machines

Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines such as:

  • aluminium and magnesium may affect the action of this tablet, by lowering the amount of medicinal product absorbed
  • NSAIDs
  • phenobarbital, phenytoin (used for treatment of epilepsy)
  • rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis and some other infections)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • To be taken by mouth with or without food as doctor prescribed
  • It should take only one tablet once a day as prescribed by your doctor

 If you take more DELPODINE M

  • If you take more DELPODINE M, contact your doctor immediately. Symptoms of an overdose in adults are abdominal pain, dizziness, drowsiness, headache, fatigue, dry mouth, vomiting and hyperactivity

If you forget to take DELPODINE M

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Take the next dose at the usual time as prescribed by your doctor

If you stop taking DELPODINE M

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to stop your treatment

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Fexofenadine:

  • swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat and difficulty breathing

Montelukast:

  • headache
  • abdominal pain

Fexofenadine:

  • drowsiness
  • nausea
  • dizziness

Montelukast:

  • upper respiratory infection
  • diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting
  • fever
  • rash

Fexofenadine:

  • tiredness
  • sleepiness

Montelukast:

  • throat which may cause difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  • behaviour and mood related changes
  • nose bleeding
  • dry mouth, indigestion
  • bruising, itching, hives
  • joint or muscle pain, muscle cramps
  • weakness, feeling unwell, swelling

Montelukast:

  • increased bleeding tendency
  • tremor, disturbance in attention, memory impairment
  • palpitations

Montelukast

  • hallucinations, disorientation, suicidal thoughts and actions
  • swelling (inflammation of the lungs)
  • hepatitis (inflammation of the liver)
  • tender red lumps under the skin most commonly on your shins (erythema nodosum), severe skin reactions (erythema multiforme) that may occur without warning
