Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to darifenacin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • suffer from urinary retention (inability to empty your bladder)
  • have gastric retention (problems emptying the contents of the stomach)
  • suffer from uncontrolled narrow-angle glaucoma
  • have myasthenia gravis
  • have severe ulcerative colitis or toxic megacolon
  • have severe liver, kidney problems
  • have autonomic neuropathy
  • have heartburn and belching
  • have difficulties in passing urine and a weak stream of urine
  • have severe constipation (less than or equal to 2 bowel movements per week)
  • have a digestive motility disorder
  • have an obstructive gastrointestinal disorder
  • have inflammation of the oesophagus
  • have heart diseases

Tell your doctor about any other medicine you are taking:

  • medicines such as ciclosporin (used in transplantation)
  • verapamil (a medicine used to lower blood pressure, heart rhythm, angina pectoris)
  • antifungal medicines (e.g. ketoconazole and itraconazole)
  • oral bisphosphonates
  • certain antibiotics (e.g. erythromycin, clarithromycin and rifampicin)
  • antiviral medicines (e.g. nelfinavir and ritonavir)
  • antipsychotic medicines (e.g. thioridazine)
  • certain antidepressants (e.g. imipramine)
  • certain anticonvulsants (carbamazepine, barbiturates)
  • certain medicines used to treat heart problems (e.g. flecainide, verapamil and digoxin)
  • other antimuscarinic medicines (e.g. tolterodine, oxybutynin and flavoxate)

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the tablets with a drink of water. Do not chew or crush them
  • DARIF 7.5MG should be taken once daily
  • DARIF 7.5MG may be taken with or without food
  • The recommended starting dose, including for patients aged over 65 years is 7.5 mg daily
  • Depending on your response to DARIF 7.5MG your doctor may increase your dose to 15 mg daily, two weeks after starting therapy

If you take more DARIF 7.5MG

  • If you take too many DARIF 7.5MG, talk to your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take DARIF 7.5MG

  • If you have forgotten to take your DARIF 7.5MG take them as soon as possible on the same day
  • Do not take a double dose

If you stop taking DARIF 7.5MG

  • Do not stop taking DARIF 7.5MG without talking to your doctor first
