INTRODUCTION
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTIONcontains Clindamycin, which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat serious bacterial infections. Bacterial infection occurs when bacteria enter the body, increase in number and cause a reaction in the body. Symptoms include fever, fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting and swollen lymph nodes in the neck, armpits, groin or elsewhere.
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION is not recommended if you have a serious infection in the brain. Before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have or ever had problems with your stomach or intestines (bowel disease, diarrhea), hay fever, asthma, eczema, kidney, and liver problems.
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant women. DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION is generally not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Children above 1 month of age can receive DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION with caution. The most common side effects of receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION are blood clots, abnormalities in liver function tests and rashes. Consult your doctor if your symptoms do not improve.

HOW DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION WORKS
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION acts against the bacteria by binding to the 50S subunit of the bacterial ribosome (site of protein synthesis). Which in turn prevents protein synthesis and kills the infection-causing bacteria.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse into your muscle(intramuscular) or vein (intravenous, via a drip). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
SIDE EFFECTS OF DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION
COMMON
- blood clot (vein inflammation)
- abnormalities in liver function tests
- rash characterized by a flat, red area on the skin that is covered with small bumps
UNCOMMON
- change of sense of taste
- low blood pressure (feeling lightheaded, dizzy)
- feeling sick
- itchy skin
- hives
- pain, abscess (boil)
RARE
Stop receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
- severe, continuous, bloody diarrhea (can be associated with stomach pain or fever). It can be a sign of serious bowel inflammation
- a severe allergic reaction such as sudden wheezing, difficulty in breathing, dizziness, swelling of the eyelids or face or lips or throat or tongue, rash, or itching (especially if affecting the entire body)
- life-threatening skin rashes like:
- blistering and peeling of large areas of skin, fever, cough, feeling unwell and swelling of the gums, tongue, or lips
- Stevens-Johnson syndrome (peeling of large areas of skin, especially around the mouth, nose, eyes, and genitals) and a more severe form (toxic epidermal necrolysis)
- widespread red skin rash with pus-containing blisters (exfoliative dermatitis bullous)
- skin rash, which may blister (looks like central dark spots surrounded by a paler area, with a dark ring around the edge, known as erythema multiforme)
- drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS) (fever, swollen lymph nodes or skin rash)
- the rapid appearance of areas of red skin with small pustules (blisters filled with white/yellow fluid) (Acute Generalized Exanthematous Pustulosis (AGEP))
- jaundice (yellowing of skin and whites of the eye)
- a marked decrease in the number of blood cells which may cause bruising or bleeding or weaken the immune system. a slight decrease in the number of white blood cells (leukopenia), reduced blood platelet (thrombocytopenia)
- heart and lungs stop functioning
- fluid retention causing swelling in legs, ankles or feet, shortness of breath or nausea

PREGNANCY
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant women or women planning to have a baby as it crosses the placenta. It will be given to you by the doctor only if it's clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION.
BREASTFEEDING
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTIONis not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION.
DRIVING AND USING MACHINES
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION does not affect your ability to drive or use machines.
KIDNEY
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Consult your doctor before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION.
LIVER
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTIONshould be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION.
ALLERGY
Do not receive DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Clindamycin or any other ingredients of this medicine.
OTHERS
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you:
- have serious infections in and around the brain
Before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you:
- have diarrhea or have ever suffered from problems with your stomach or intestines (bowel disease)
- have hay fever, asthma, or eczema
- are in hospital to have an operation or procedure

INTERACTIONS
A. Drug-Drug interactions:
Before receiving DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicine:
- erythromycin (an antibiotic used to treat infection)
- oral contraceptive pill (to prevent pregnancy)
- warfarin (blood thinners)
- rifampicin (to treat tuberculosis)
Overdosage:
DALACIN C 600MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms.
