CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION is a combination of Cefoperazone and Sulbactam which belongs to the group of medicines called antibiotics. It is used to treat several bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections, urinary tract infections (upper and lower), intra-abdominal infections, septicemia, meningitis, skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, gonorrhea, endometritis, pelvic inflammatory disease and other infections of the genital tract.
How does CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION work?
CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION contains cefoperazone and sulbactam. Cefoperazone works by stopping the formation of bacterial cell coverings, which makes the bacteria susceptible for killing. Sulbactam works by reducing bacterial resistance and enhancing the activity of cefoperazone against the bacteria. Together, they helps to treat various bacterial infections.
How CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION is administered?
CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse, either into the vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly). Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection.
Is CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION safe to use in patients with liver disease?
CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with severe biliary obstruction (blockage of the bile ducts) and severe liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice before receiving CUCEF S 500MG INJECTION.
