What is CRANPAC D?

Cranpac D tablet contains cranberry extract made from 100% cranberry fruit solids and d-mannose for dual support of urinary tract comfort. Cranberry extract provides urinary tract support by enhancing the acidity of urine and maintains a healthy urinary tract ecology. D-Mannose play a role in supporting healthy genitourinary function by maintaining a healthy mucosal surface.

E. coli is the most common bacteria causing UTI and has hair-like protruding fimbria on their surface through which it attaches to the surface of urinary tract. Cranberry contains proanthocyanidins (PAC) which binds to the mannose-resistant adhesins (P-fimbriae) of E.coli and inhibit the binding of this bacteria to urinary tract. D-mannose binds to the mannose-sensitive type 1 pili of E.coli bacteria thereby, blocking its attachment to the surface of urinary tract.
