What CORBIS H 5MG is used for?

CORBIS H 5MG is used to treat,

  • high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • angina pectoris
  • edema associated with congestive heart failure, hepatic cirrhosis and corticosteroid and estrogen therapy

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to Bisoprolol and Hydrochlorothiazide or to any other ingredients of this medicine
  • have severe asthma or sever chronic lung disease
  • have severe blood circulation problem in your limbs (such as raynaud’s syndrome)
  • have metabolic acidosis, a condition when there is too much acid in the blood
  • have heart failure, slow or irregular heart rate
  • have very low blood pressure
  • have diabetes
  • are fasting
  • have any liver or kidney problems
  • have psoriasis (a recurring skin rash)
  • have phaeochromocytoma
  • have a thyroid problem
  • have glaucoma
  • have low potassium levels in blood
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • CORBIS H 5MG is not recommended for use in children
  • If you feel dizziness, blurred vision or drowsiness when taking this medicine, do not drive or use any tools or machines

Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines such as:

  • antidiabetic drugs (oral agents and insulin)
  • cholestyramine and colestipol resins
  • corticosteroids
  • barbiturates, or narcotics used to treat psychiatric problems
  • verapamil or diltiazem, medicines used to treat heart conditions
  • medicines for controlling the blood pressure or heart problems (such as amiodarone, amlodipine, clonidine, digitalis glycosides, diltiazem, disopyramide, flecainide, methyldopa, quinidine, verapamil)
  • imipramine, amitriptyline, moclobemide medicines for depression
  • phenothiazines such as levomepromazine used to treat mental illness
  • phenytoin and barbiturates such as phenobarbital used to treat epilepsy
  • certain pain killers (for instance acetyl salicylic acid, diclofenac, indomethacin, ibuprofen, naproxen)
  • medicines for asthma or medicines used for a blocked nose
  • medicines used for certain eye disorders such as glaucoma
  • mefloquine, a medicine for malaria
  • rifampicin used for the treatment of infections
  • medicines to treat severe headaches or migraines (ergotamine derivatives)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • It can be swallowed with a whole glass of water
  • Do not crush the tablet

If you take more CORBIS H 5MG

  • If you take more CORBIS H 5MG, talk to your doctor or go to the nearest hospital immediately
  • Symptoms of overdosage are slow heartbeat, severe breathing difficulties, dizziness or tremor, hypokalemia, hypochloremia, hyponatremia

If you forget to take CORBIS H 5MG

  • If you have forgotten to take your CORBIS H 5MG take them as soon as possible on the same day
  • Do not take a double dose 

If you stop taking CORBIS H 5MG

  • Do not stop taking CORBIS H 5MG without talking to your doctor first

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • worsening of heart failure causing increased breathlessness and/or retention of fluid
  • slow heartbeat
  • cold hands and/or feet
  • numbness of hands and/or feet
  • low blood pressure
  • feeling sick, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation
  • tiredness
  • dizziness
  • headache
  • worsening of irregular heart beat
  • sleep disorders
  • depression
  • breathing problems in patients with asthma or chronic lung disease
  • muscle weakness, muscle cramps
  • changes in blood test results
  • reduced tear flow (can be a problem if you wear contact lenses)
  • hearing disorders
  • blocked, runny nose
  • inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) causing abdominal pain, loss of appetite and sometimes jaundice with yellowing of the whites of the eyes and skin and dark urine
  • hypersensitivity reactions such as itching, redness and skin rash
  • reduced sexual performance
  • nightmares
  • hallucinations
  • fainting
  • inflammation of the eye (conjunctivitis)
  • aggravation of the skin condition psoriasis or the appearance of a similar dry, scaly rash
  • hair loss
