INTRODUCTION

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET contains Mebeverine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics. It is used in adults to treat painful muscle spasms of the stomach and the intestines. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other similar stomach conditions (such as chronic irritable colon, spastic constipation, mucous colitis and spastic colitis) that causes painful spasms or cramps of the gut muscles.

Take COLOSPA 135MG TABLET 20 minutes before meals or as directed by your physician. Along with the treatment, follow the diet changes that suits your body and eat foods rich in fibre (such as cereals pulses, fruits etc.) to lessen the symptoms.

Before taking COLOSPA 135MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you experience new any symptoms of IBS or worsening of existing symptoms as a precaution.

Do not take COLOSPA 135MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. The most common side-effects of taking COLOSPA 135MG TABLET are skin rash, redness or irritation. Contact your doctor if it troubles you.

USES OF COLOSPA 135MG TABLET

It is used to relieve painful stomach cramps or spasms in adult patients with:

  • irritable bowel syndrome (IBS)
  • chronic irritable colon
  • spastic constipation
  • mucous colitis
  • spastic colitis

HOW COLOSPA 135MG TABLET WORKS

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET is an antispasmodic medication. It relaxes the smooth muscles of the stomach and the intestines which therefore relieves painful muscle cramps caused due to irritable bowel syndrome and other stomach conditions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take COLOSPA 135MG TABLET 20 minutes before meals or as directed by the physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Skin rash:

Place an icepack on the affected skin areas to ease the irritation. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaps on the affected areas. Wear protective loose-fitting clothes while going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Avoid exposing your skin towards direct sunlight. If the condition did not improve, contact your doctor.

PREGNANCY

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice. Women who accidentally became pregnant while taking COLOSPA 135MG TABLET must inform their doctor immediately.

BREASTFEEDING

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET does not affect your ability for driving or handling any heavy tools or machines.

ALCOHOL

Consult your doctor for advice if you wish to consume alcohol while getting treated for IBS.

KIDNEY

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

LIVER

COLOSPA 135MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.

ALLERGY

Do not take COLOSPA 135MG TABLET if you are allergic to Mebeverine.

OTHERS
