COLIBEST TABLET is a combination of Drotaverine and Nimesulide which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) respectively. COLIBEST TABLET is used to treat abdominal pain which refers to the discomfort in the space between the chest and pelvis that occurs due to indigestion or muscle strain.
There are four types of abdominal pain which are categorized as upper, lower, right-sided and left-sided abdominal pain which are generally characterized by symptoms such as bloating, flatulence, indigestion, constipation, diarrhea, heartburn and chest discomfort.
Avoid taking COLIBEST TABLET, if you have drug addiction, history of gastrointestinal bleeding or perforation, recurrent active bleeding or stomach ulcer, bleeding or severe coagulation disorders such as hemophilia and von willebrand disease, severe heart, liver or kidney failure.
Before taking COLIBEST TABLET, inform your doctor if you have low blood pressure. COLIBEST TABLET is generally not recommended for use during the third trimester of pregnancy and in women attempting to conceive. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.
COLIBEST TABLET is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years). Consult your doctor before taking it.
The most common side effects of taking COLIBEST TABLET are diarrhea, nausea and vomiting. Consult your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
COLIBEST TABLET relieves abdominal pain, where Drotaverine provides relief from muscle spasms by inhibiting multisynaptic reflex on the brain and spinal cord centers and Nimesulide provides relief from abdominal pain by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that are responsible to cause pain and inflammation in the affected areas.
Take COLIBEST TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow COLIBEST TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop taking COLIBEST TABLET and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea or Vomiting:
Take COLIBEST TABLET with or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. Get adequate rest. Drink sufficient amount of fluids, especially water. Have small sips if you feel sick. Eat when you feel hungry or like to eat. Do not take any medicine for vomiting without asking your doctor.
Headache:
Drink ample amount of water. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Ask your doctor before taking any medicine for headache.
Dizziness:
Lie down until dizziness is gone, then get up slowly. Move slowly and carefully, do not hurry. Get adequate rest. Drink plenty of water and other fluids. Avoid cigarettes, alcohol and drugs. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Constipation:
Eat plenty of fiber rich foods such as fresh fruits, vegetables, cereals and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Diarrhea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not take any medicine on your own for treating diarrhea without consulting your doctor.
Flatulence:
Eat smaller and frequent meals. Eat and drink slowly and exercise regularly. If the symptom does not improve, contact your doctor.
COLIBEST TABLET is generally not recommended for use during the third trimester of pregnancy and in women attempting to conceive. It is used with caution during the first two trimesters of pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. Consult your doctor before taking COLIBEST TABLET.

Do not drive or use any machines if you experience dizziness, drowsiness or spinning sensation after taking COLIBEST TABLET.
Do not consume alcohol while taking COLIBEST TABLET. Consult your doctor before taking COLIBEST TABLET.
COLIBEST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney failure. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate impaired renal function. Consult your doctor before taking COLIBEST TABLET.
COLIBEST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver failure. Consult your doctor before taking COLIBEST TABLET.
Do not take COLIBEST TABLET if you are allergic to Drotaverine, Nimesulide or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
COLIBEST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe heart failure. It should be used with caution in patients with low blood pressure, uncontrolled high blood pressure, ischemic heart disease, peripheral arterial disease or cerebrovascular disease, congestive heart failure. Consult your doctor before taking COLIBEST TABLET.

Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally take too much of COLIBEST TABLET, contact your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include weakness, feeling generally unwell, dizziness, vomiting, headache, fall in blood pressure, sleepiness, heart rhythm and conduction disorders like potentially fatal complete bundle block, drowsiness, sluggishness, nausea and epigastric pain.

What precautions do I need to follow while taking COLIBEST TABLET?
Patients taking COLIBEST TABLET must inform their doctor about their pre-existing disease conditions like kidney, liver or heart problems. Patients should also inform if they are pregnant or breast-feeding, having any allergies, stomach ulcers or bleeding problems. You should avoid drinking alcohol while taking COLIBEST TABLET. Contact your doctor immediately if you have any abnormal symptoms.
What if I forget to take a dose of COLIBEST TABLET?
If you forget to take a dose of COLIBEST TABLET, take it as soon as you remember and then continue your treatment as usual. Do not take the medicine twice to make up for the forgotten dose. If you have any further doubts, contact your doctor.
