CLEAR NICO is a combination of Clindamycin and Nicotinamide which belongs to a group of medicines called Lincomycin antibiotics and Vitamin B3 complex, respectively. CLEAR NICO is used to treat mild to moderate acne which is a skin condition that occurs when hair follicles become plugged with oil and dead skin cells which may occur due to variety of causes such as genetics, fluctuating hormone levels, stress, high humidity or using oily or greasy personal care products which may affect people of all ages. It is characterized by symptoms such as open or closed plugged pores, small red & tender bumps, pimples, large, solid, or painful lumps under the skin, and painful & pus-filled lumps under the skin.
Clindamycin is a lincomycin antibiotic that reduces free fatty acid concentrations on the skin and suppresses the growth of Propionibacterium acnes (Corynebacterium acnes), a bacteria found in sebaceous glands and follicles. Nicotinamide is a vitamin of B3 complex that exerts anti-inflammatory effect in acne and interrupts sebum production.
Avoid applying CLEAR NICO, if you are allergic to Clindamycin or Nicotinamide, and or have a history of regional enteritis (inflamed gastrointestinal tract), ulcerative colitis (inflammatory bowel disease), antibiotic associated colitis (inflammation of large intestine), liver or renal impairment. Before applying CLEAR NICO, inform your doctor if you have eczema (skin inflammation), or asthma.
CLEAR NICO is not recommended for use during pregnancy and in breastfeeding women, which is also not recommended for use in children and adolescents (below 12 years). Consult your doctor before applying CLEAR NICO. The most common symptoms of using CLEAR NICO are skin inflammation, contact dermatitis (red, itchy rash), inflammation of hair follicles, itchy skin, dry skin, peeling of skin and skin redness. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.
CLEAR NICO helps to treat acne, where clindamycin reduces free fatty acid concentrations on the skin and suppresses the growth of Propionibacterium acnes (Corynebacterium acnes), a bacteria found in sebaceous glands and follicles, and nicotinamide exerts anti-inflammatory effect in acne and interrupts sebum production.
Apply CLEAR NICO as advised by your physician. It is for external use only. Before applying the medicine normally wash and dry the affected area and apply a thin layer of this medicine on the affected area. Treated areas on the face need not be covered with a plaster or bandage. Do not apply CLEAR NICO on your face beyond the recommended duration. Avoid applying CLEAR NICO around your eyes, including eyelids. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
Stop applying CLEAR NICO and contact your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects:
Dry Skin:
Try moisturizing your skin with an ointment, cream, or lotion 2 or 3 times a day, or as more often as needed. Moisturizers help to keep the area moisture, so they work best on damp skin. After you bathe, pat your skin dry then apply your moisturizer. Consult your before using any moisturizer. Try to avoid using skin care products and soaps that contain alcohol, fragrances, dyes, or other chemicals.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.
CLEAR NICO is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before applying CLEAR NICO.
CLEAR NICO is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before applying CLEAR NICO.
CLEAR NICO should not affect your ability to drive or operate machines. Consult your doctor before applying CLEAR NICO.
CLEAR NICO is not recommended for use in patients having kidney disease such as kidney impairment. It should be used with caution in patients having other kidney diseases. Consult your doctor before applying CLEAR NICO.

Overdosage:
If you or anyone else accidentally applies too much of CLEAR NICO, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdosage are diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, and colitis including pseudomembranous colitis (swelling or inflammation of the large intestine that occurs after antibiotic use).
