CIPROTAS FC contains Ciprofloxacin which belongs to a group of medicines called fluoroquinolones. It is used to treat bacterial conjunctivitis. Bacterial conjunctivitis is an eye inflammation or infection of the transparent membrane that lines your eyelid and eyeball.
Ciprofloxacin is a second generation fluoroquinolones that produces its action through inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.
Always use this CIPROTAS FC exactly as directed by your doctor. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have or had any eye allergies. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers consult your doctor before using the medicine. The common side effects are local burning or discomfort, eye redness. If you wear contact lenses remove them before using this medicine and put them back 15 minutes afterwards. If you are using more than one type of eye medicine, it must be used at least 5 minutes apart. Safety and effectiveness in pediatric patients below the age of two years have not been established.
CIPROTAS FC works against bacteria that cause infections and acts on specific strains of bacteria.
Always use CIPROTAS FC exactly as your doctor has told you. It is for topical ophthalmic use only. Check the label before use.
There are limited studies available and CIPROTAS FC should be used with caution during pregnancy only if clearly needed and if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus.
It is not known whether CIPROTAS FC is secreted in milk. Therefore, caution should be exercised in breastfeeding mothers. Consult your doctor for advice.
Do not drive or handle any machines if you experience any temporary blurred vision or other visual disturbances.
