What is CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet used for?

CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet is used to treat the following conditions:

  • Excess uric acid formation;
  • Gout (Pain and inflammation occur when uric acid crystallises and deposits in the joints);
  • Certain types of kidney stones;
  • Excess of uric acid for cancer patient receiving chemotherapy;
  • Certain skin diseases due to increased uric acid level in blood;
  • Metabolic disorders.

CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet is used in combination with other antibiotics.

CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How does CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet work?

CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It inhibits the activity of xanthine oxidase, an enzyme involved in purine metabolism. Purine is a colourless crystalline compound with basic properties, forming uric acid on oxidation.

CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet acts on purine catabolism, without disrupting the biosynthesis of purines. It reduces the production of uric acid by inhibiting the biochemical reactions immediately preceding its formation.

How to take CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet?

  • The dosage of oral tablet of CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet depends on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet as prescribed by your doctor.
  • CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet is taken once daily.
  • CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet should be taken after food to avoid stomach upset.
  • Drink full glass of water with this medicine. It is better to take at least 8 to 10 glasses of fluid a day when under this medication.
  • Do not take large or small amounts or for long duration than recommended. 
  • If you miss a dose of CIPLORIC 100mg Tablet, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
