INTRODUCTION

CILNIX 10MG TABLET contains Cilnidipine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antihypertensive agents. It is used to treat hypertension and its associated vascular disorders.

Hypertension (also known as high blood pressure) is a medical condition in which the force of the blood exerted against the walls of the arteries remains very high, and as a result it may lead to severe damage to the blood vessels supplying vital organs, such as heart, kidney or brain. If left untreated, it may cause serious complications such as heart attack, heart failure, stroke or even blindness.

By lowering blood pressure, CILNIX 10MG TABLET can also reduce the risk of angina (chest pain), heart attack (myocardial infarction) or stroke (sudden loss of blood supply).

Before taking CILNIX 10MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have severe hypotension (low blood pressure), edema or congestive heart failure.

CILNIX 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with other severe heart problems such as narrowing of heart valves. Consult your doctor before taking CILNIX 10MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

The most common side effects of taking CILNIX 10MG TABLET are swelling of ankles or other body parts, headache, dizziness, flushing, skin rashes and gingival hyperplasia (enlargement or overgrowth of the gums). Contact your doctor if any of these side effects trouble you.

USES OF CILNIX 10MG TABLET

HOW CILNIX 10MG TABLET WORKS

CILNIX 10MG TABLET is a vasodilator. It works by blocking the entry of certain ions (calcium ions) within the blood vessels that causes narrowing. As a result, it relaxes the blood vessels and allows blood to flow more smoothly across the blood vessels with less pressure. It also improves blood flow and oxygen supply to the heart muscles which reduces the strain on the heart, improves heart functions and prevents the risks of heart attack or stroke.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take CILNIX 10MG TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicines with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
