What is Ciprofloxacin used for?
Ciprofloxacin is an oral antibiotic that is used to treat bacterial infections such as urinary tract infection, bone and joint infection, abdominal infection, skin infection, lower respiratory tract infection, typhoid infection, sinus infection, cystitis, and prostatitis. This medicine fights different types of bacteria by inhibiting the reproduction of DNA that is essential for the survival of the bacteria. How to take Ciprofloxacin?
The dosage of Ciprofloxacin prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label. The following dosage information includes the common dose of Ciprofloxacin. If your dose is different, do not follow the dosage described below unless your physician has approved.
The recommended oral dose of Ciprofloxacin is between 250 and 750 mg. Take this medication with a full glass of water. It can be taken with or without food.
