INTRODUCTION

CETSAFE AM TABLET is a combination of Ambroxol and Cetirizine which belongs to the group of medicines called Mucolytics and Antihistamines respectively. It is primarily used to treat coughs associated with allergies. Allergy coughs are caused due to irritation and inflammation in the airways that develop as part of the immune response to allergens  (particles that cause allergies).

Before taking CETSAFE AM TABLET, inform your doctor if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ambroxol or cetirizine or have liver, kidney, or heart problems. CETSAFE AM TABLET should not be taken by pregnant or breastfeeding women; they should consult their doctors before taking the medicine.

CETSAFE AM TABLET is not recommended for children under the age of six. Consult your doctor for advice. The most common side effects of CETSAFE AM TABLET are diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, and sleepiness. Consult your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse or persist.

HOW CETSAFE AM TABLET WORKS

Ambroxol is a mucolytic agent that decreases the sputum's thickness and makes it less viscous and easier to cough out. whereas cetirizine helps block chemicals in the body called histamines that produce allergic symptoms. The histamines are responsible for a runny nose, coughing, sneezing, and swelling of the nasal passage. Collectively, they act by symptomatically relieving the productive cough associated with allergic rhinitis when both antihistamines and mucolytic agents are desired.
