CEMAX T 250MG contain cefuroxime which belongs to a group of medicine called cephalosporin antibiotics. It is an antibiotic used in adults and children to treat infections of throat, sinus, middle ear, lungs or chest, urinary tract, skin, and soft tissues. It works by preventing bacteria from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall). This causes the cell walls to rupture resulting in the death of the bacteria.
The common side effects are fungal infections (such as Candida), headache, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea, stomach pain, increase in a type of white blood cell, increase in liver enzymes. Always take CEMAX T 250MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken after food. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. This medicine is strictly not recommended for children aged under 3 months. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.
Dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluids, such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without consulting to a doctor.
Nausea:
Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Stomach pain:
Keep try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly and smaller and frequent meals. Applying a heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
CEMAX T 250MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.

Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness and less alertness.
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with CEMAX T 250MG.

Do not take CEMAX T 250MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to cefuroxime or any other ingredients in this medicine.

No, alcohol consumption should be avoided while taking this medicine. Although not common but there are chance of severe reaction on taking alcohol with this medicine which could prove harmful for the patient. Consult your physician before you start taking this medication.
Can CEMAX T 250MG treat UTI?
Yes, it can be used to treat urinary tract infection (UTI). But it is prescribed only in case of uncomplicated UTIs for 7 to 10 days. The medication is prescribed by the doctor only, self-medication is not advised. The severity of the UTI decides the kind of therapy needed to treat it.
Can CEMAX T 250MG cause diarrhoea?
