CEBRAN contains Ciprofloxacin which belongs to a group of medicines called fluoroquinolones. It is used to treat conjunctivitis, corneal ulcers, hypopyon ulcer, superficial and deeper eye infections and pre and post-operative care. Conjunctivitis is an eye inflammation or infection of the transparent membrane that lines your eyelid and eyeball.
Ciprofloxacin is a second generation fluoroquinolones that produces its action through inhibition of bacterial DNA gyrase and topoisomerase IV.
Always use CEBRAN exactly as directed by your doctor. Before using this medicine, tell your doctor if you have or had any eye allergies. Pregnant and breastfeeding mothers consult your doctor before using the medicine. The common side effects are local burning or discomfort, eye redness. If you wear contact lenses remove them before using this medicine and put them back 15 minutes afterwards. If you are using more than one type of eye medicine, it must be used at least 5 minutes apart.

There are limited studies available and CEBRAN should be used with caution during pregnancy only if clearly needed and if the potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the foetus.
It is not known whether CEBRAN is secreted in milk. Therefore, caution should be exercised in breastfeeding mothers. Consult your doctor for advice.
Do not drive or handle any machines if you experience any temporarily blurred vision, less motor coordination.
