What is CARPELA Tablet used for?

CARPELA Tablet tablet is used to reduce the symptoms of menopause and in the prevention of osteoporosis in females. It is also recommended for the treatment of the following conditions:

  • Prostate cancer in males
  • Breast cancer in females
  • Ovarian failure
  • Hirsutism (unwanted facial hair growth in females)

CARPELA Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

How does CARPELA Tablet work?

In CARPELA Tablet, Cyproterone belongs to the class of drugs called anti-androgen drugs. The drug acts by reducing the amount of androgen produced in the body by blocking the action of male sex hormone.

Estradiol belongs to the class of drugs called steroidal hormones. The drug acts by mimicking the action of oestrogen by binding to the oestrogen receptors. 

How to take CARPELA Tablet?

  • Swallow the tablet Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug with or without food.
