What CALCINOL D is used for?
CALCINOL D is used:
- as a supplementation of calcium during growth, pregnancy, lactation
- as adjunctive therapy in osteoporosis
- to treat calcium and vitamin D3 deficiency
- to treat osteomalacia
- to treat malnutrition
Talk to your Doctor before taking CALCINOL D, if you:
- are allergic to any of the ingredients in CALCINOL D
- have elevated level of calcium in the blood
- have liver or kidney problem
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- cardiac glycosides, diuretics (used to treat heart disease)
- thiazide diuretics (used to treat high blood pressure)
- systemic corticosteroids (reduce inflammation)
- cholestyramine (used to treat itching)
- laxatives such as paraffin oil (used to treat constipation)
- quinolone antibiotics, tetracycline (used to treat infections)
- bisphosphonates (used to treat Osteoporosis)
- levothyroxine (used to treat thyroid disease)
- Always take CALCINOL D exactly as your doctor has told you
- Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
- Do not crush or chew the tablet
If you take more CALCINOL D
- If you take more CALCINOL D than you should, talk to a doctor or go to a hospital straight away
- Symptoms of overdosage are: hypervitaminosis D and hypercalcaemia
If you forget to take CALCINOL D
- If you forget to take a dose, skip the missed dose. Then take your next dose as normal
- Do not take a double dose (two doses at the same time) to make up for a forgotten dose
If you stop taking CALCINOL D
- Do not stop taking CALCINOL D without talking to your doctor
- Like all medicines, CALCINOL D can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them
- If any of the side effects gets serious, or if you notice any side effect not listed below, please tell your doctor immediately
