INTRODUCTION

CAL 123 FEM TABLET is a combination of Calcitriol, Calcium Carbonate, Calcium Orotate, Calcium Citrate, Calcium Aspartate, Soya Isoflavones, and Vitamin K2-7 which belongs to the group of medicines called Vitamin D derivatives, Calcium compounds, Phytoestrogens, and Vitamin K derivatives. It is used to prevent, treat, or manage postmenopausal osteoporosis and fractures.

Menopause is the time that marks the natural end of reproductive age for a woman, along with the cessation of the menstrual cycle and a decline in reproductive hormone levels in the body, causing bone loss (postmenopausal osteoporosis) and fractures.

Osteoporosis is a condition that causes thinning and weakening of bones because of excessive absorption of calcium from the bones. It is characterized by symptoms such as bleeding gums, weak grip strength, brittle fingernails, loss of height, frequent fractures, and neck and back pain.

CAL 123 FEM TABLET is also not recommended for use in patients with hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood) and/or metastatic calcification (extra deposits of calcium in your body).

Before taking [GBNKEWYORD], inform your doctor if you are immobilized (due to an operation or any other reason) and/or have liver problems (such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease).

CAL 123 FEM TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only clearly necessary. CAL 123 FEM TABLET should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years).

The most common side effects associated with the use of CAL 123 FEM TABLET are hypercalcemia (high calcium levels in the blood), headache, skin rash, excess thirst, and nausea. abdominal pain and/or urinary tract infection. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsen.

USES OF CAL 123 FEM TABLET

  • Prevent, treat and manage postmenopausal osteoporosis and fractures

HOW CAL 123 FEM TABLET WORKS

CAL 123 FEM TABLET helps in promoting bone health in postmenopausal women, where calcitriol works by aiding the body to absorb more calcium from food or supplements, which also regulates the production of parathyroid hormone (the chemical responsible for maintaining the balance between calcium and phosphorus in the body).

Calcium carbonate, calcium orotate, calcium citrate, and calcium aspartate work by facilitating calcium retention and bone accrual, which leads to consolidation and maintenance of bone mass, thus preventing bone fracture and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.

Soy isoflavones mimic the actions of oestrogen, which is a hormone that is needed for calcium deposition in the bones, thereby reversing bone loss in postmenopausal women.

Vitamin K2-7 works by increasing collagen production through osteoblastic cells and preventing calcium deposits in the arteries, thus increasing healthy bone deposits and thereby treating osteoporosis in affected individuals.
