INTRODUCTION

BIOMITON CREAM is a combination of Crotamiton and Hydrocortisone which belongs to the group of medicines called Scabicides & Antipruritics and Corticosteroids respectively. It is used in the treatment of scabies.

Human scabies is a parasitic infestation caused by Sarcoptes scabiei var hominis. The microscopic mite burrows into the skin and lays eggs, eventually triggering a host immune response that leads to intense itching and rash.

Scabies infestation may be complicated by bacterial infection, leading to the development of skin sores that, in turn, may lead to the development of more serious consequences such as septicaemia, heart disease and chronic kidney disease.

During the course of the treatment your doctor might regularly examine your skin to avoid any untoward side effects.

BIOMITON CREAM is not recommended for use in cold sores, acne, athlete’s foot, broken or infected skin and in children (below 10 years).

BIOMITON CREAM is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women unless specifically directed by your doctor.

The most common side effect of using BIOMITON CREAM are irritation at the application site like burning or itching. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
