What is BILANTA SYRUP used for?
BILANTA SYRUP is used in children (from 6 to 11 years of age with a body weight of at least 20 kg) to relieve the symptoms of hay fever (such as sneezing, itching, runny and stuffy nose and red or watery eyes) and other forms of allergic rhinitis, which is usually caused by an allergen such as pollen, dust, mold or flakes of skin from certain animals. It is also used to treat itchy skin rashes (hives or urticaria).
What are the common side effects of BILANTA SYRUP?
The most common side effects of taking BILANTA SYRUP are headache, nasal rhinitis (nasal irritation), allergic conjunctivitis (eye irritation) and stomach pain. Consult your child’s doctor if any of the side effects worsens.
Can BILANTA SYRUP be used in children suffering from kidney impairment?
BILANTA SYRUP should be used with caution in children suffering from moderate to severe kidney impairment. Your child’s doctor may monitor the kidney function test before and during treatment with BILANTA SYRUP to prevent the risk of any unusual effects. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
Can I give BILANTA SYRUP to my child with food?
Avoid giving BILANTA SYRUP to your child with food or with grapefruit juice or other fruit juices, as this will decrease the effect of this medicine leading to poor therapeutic outcome. Give BILANTA SYRUP to your child one hour before or two hours after they have taken any food or fruit juices.
Does BILANTA SYRUP cause diarrhoea?
Yes, BILANTA SYRUP may cause diarrhea in some individuals. To manage this effect, advice your child to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Avoid giving your child a high-fat diet or spicy foods. Try to avoid giving any medicine on your own to your child to treat diarrhea. Consult child’s doctor if the symptom gets worse.
