INTRODUCTION

BETHANEVAC 25 contains Bethanechol which belongs to the group of medicines called Cholinergic agents. It is used to treat urinary retention (inability to empty the bladder) following an operation or after giving birth or other health problems (such as brain, spinal or nerve problems) and also used in the treatment of reflux esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus due to back flow of stomach contents into the esophagus).

BETHANEVAC 25 is not recommended for use in patients with gut or heart problems, asthma, fits, parkinsonism or if you had recent surgery on your stomach. BETHANEVAC 25 should be used with caution in patients taking certain medicines for heart problems, as a critical fall in blood pressure may occur.

BETHANEVAC 25 should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women only if clearly advised by the doctor. It is not recommended for use in elderly patients (above 70 years of age).

The most common side effects of taking BETHANEVAC 25 are diarrhea, skin flushing, increased salivation and sweating, decreased body temperature (hypothermia), etc. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect worsens.

HOW BETHANEVAC 25 WORKS
