BENDIT 100MG INJECTION contains Bendamustine which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-cancer agents. It is used to treat certain forms of cancer such as chronic lymphocytic leukemia (cancer of blood and bone marrow), Non-Hodgkin lymphomas (lymph cancer) and Multiple myeloma (cancer of plasma cells).

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION can be used either alone or in combination with other anti-cancer agents to achieve better results. Therapy with BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is chosen only when the use of other first line medicines is not suitable.

The use of BENDIT 100MG INJECTION may cause abnormal decrease in white blood cells (WBC) and platelet count in the blood. To avoid this, your doctor will closely monitor your blood count periodically before and during treatment with BENDIT 100MG INJECTION.

Before receiving BENDIT 100MG INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver, kidney, or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have severe bone marrow depression, any infections or severe changes in white blood cells and platelet count.

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION should not be used in pregnant or breastfeeding women as it may cause serious harm to the growing fetus or nursing infant. Consult your doctor for advice.

The most common side effects of receiving BENDIT 100MG INJECTION are nausea, vomiting, hair loss, oral sores, diarrhea, constipation, fever, dehydration, headache, and tiredness. Contact your doctor if any of these side effect bothers you. 

USES OF BENDIT 100MG INJECTION

It is used either alone or in combination with other anticancer medicines to treat:

  • Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia   
  • Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma  
  • Multiple Myeloma

HOW BENDIT 100MG INJECTION WORKS

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION belongs to anticancer agent which acts by damaging the genetic material (either DNA or RNA) of cancer cells which prevents the cancer cells from growing and multiplying within the body.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION will be administered into the vein only by a doctor or a nurse. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.

SIDE EFFECTS OF BENDIT 100MG INJECTION

COMMON

  • headache
  • nausea, vomiting
  • signs of low red blood cells (weakness, tiredness, dizziness, and shortness of breath)
  • signs of low platelet counts (easy bruising or bleeding from gums)
  • sings of low white blood cells (repeated fevers and infections)
  • mucosal inflammation (oral sores)
  • bleeding
  • increased or decreased blood pressure
  • irregular heart rhythm
  • disturbed lung function (cough, shortness of breath, tiredness)
  • fever, tiredness
  • amenorrhea (missed periods in women)
  • diarrhea, constipation, changes in metabolism, loss of appetite
  • dehydration
  • hair loss
  • skin changes, skin rash or itching
  • sleeping disturbances
  • dizziness
  • pain, chills

UNCOMMON

  • heart attack, chest pain
  • heart failure
  • fluid accumulation in heart sac
  • acute leukemia (cancer of blood and bone marrow)

RARE

  • drowsiness
  • infection of blood
  • loss of voice
  • excessive sweating
  • acute circulatory collapse (blood circulation problem)
  • skin reddening, skin inflammation (dermatitis)

Contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects after receiving BENDIT 100MG INJECTION:

  • signs of allergic reactions (such as skin rash, itching, swelling of the face, lips, throat, tongue causing difficulty in breathing or swallowing)
  • severe skin reactions such as stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis (causing skin peeling, red raised lesion, ulcer of the mouth including throat, nose, genitals, and eyes)
  • medicine induced allergic reactions (high body temperature, widespread of skin rash, and enlarged lymph nodes)
  • pain in your side, bloody urine, decreased urine output (signs of tumor lysis syndrome)
  • signs of serious brain infection (such as memory loss, difficulty in thinking, difficulty in walking or vision loss)
  • unusual skin changes

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Headache:

Try to take rest. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead. If the symptom does not improve, consult with your doctor.

Dizziness:

Lie down until dizziness passes away and then move slowly and carefully. Take plenty amount of rest and drink plenty of fluids. If your symptom does not improve consult your doctor.

Diarrhea:

Drink plenty of fluids such as water, fruit juices or electrolytes to avoid dehydration in your body. Consult your doctor if your symptom worsens.

Constipation:

Take fiber rich foods in your diet such as fresh fruits, vegetables and whole grain cereals, and drink plenty of fluids. Consult your doctor if your symptom worsens.

Skin rash:

Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use protective clothing when going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Consult your doctor if your skin rash worsens.

WARNING & PRECAUTIONS

PREGNANCY

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it may cause severe harm to the growing fetus. Women of childbearing age must use a suitable contraceptive before and during treatment with BENDIT 100MG INJECTION to avoid pregnancy.

BREASTFEEDING

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. However, consult your doctor before receiving it. Your doctor may ask you to discontinue breastfeeding if treatment with BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is considered necessary.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate any machines if you experience tiredness, dizziness, or lack of concentration after receiving BENDIT 100MG INJECTION.

ALCOHOL

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with BENDIT 100MG INJECTION.

KIDNEY

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

LIVER

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients with moderate to severe liver impairment (jaundice). It should be used with caution in patients with mild liver dysfunction. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

ALLERGY

Do not receive BENDIT 100MG INJECTION if you are allergic to Bendamustine or any other ingredients of this medicine.

LUNGS

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with respiratory diseases such as bronchitis. Consult your doctor before receiving it.

HEART DISEASE

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION should be used with caution in patients with heart disease (such as chest pain, heart attack or irregular heart rhythm). Consult your doctor before receiving it.

OTHERS

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION is not recommended for use if you:

  • have bone marrow depression
  • have serious changes in white blood cells or platelet counts in the blood
  • have recently or had any major surgery (less than 30 days before starting this treatment)
  • have an infection accompanied with low white blood cell count

Before receiving BENDIT 100MG INJECTION, inform your doctor if you:

  • have signs or symptoms of infection (fever, weakness, body pain including lungs symptoms such as cough, shortness of breath, wheezing or chest pain)
  • have any skin reactions or light sensitivity

Use in pediatrics:

The safety and effectiveness of BENDIT 100MG INJECTION in children have not been established. Consult your doctor for advice.

Use in geriatrics:

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION should be used with caution in the elderly patients. Consult your doctor before receiving the medicine.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug Interactions:

Before receiving BENDIT 100MG INJECTION, inform your doctor, if you are taking any of the following medicine:

  • medicines used to treat to stomach ulcers (Ex. omeprazole, esomeprazole)
  • ciprofloxacin (used to treat bacterial infections)
  • fluvoxamine (used to treat obsessive-compulsive disorder)
  • vaccines used to prevent viral infections (cholera live vaccine, H1N1 live vaccine, zoster live vaccine)
  • methotrexate (used to treat psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis)
  • yellow fever vaccine (used to protect against yellow fever)

Overdosage:

BENDIT 100MG INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital, and so it is unlikely to receive an overdose. However, consult your doctor or nurse if you experience any unusual symptoms.
