BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET contains Sultamicillin which belongs to the group of medicines called Penicillins. BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET is used to treat upper respiratory tract infections (such as sinusitis, otitis media, tonsillitis), lower respiratory tract infections (such as bacterial pneumonias, bronchitis), urinary tract infections, pyelonephritis (inflammation of kidney), skin & soft tissue infections, and gonococcal infections (sexually transmitted disease) in affected individuals.
BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET is also indicated in patients who require sulbactam/ampicillin therapy (antibacterial therapy) following initial therapy with intramuscular/intravenous sulbactam/ampicillin medicine. BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Sultamicillin. It is also not recommended for use in patients with infectious mononucleosis (a viral infection), galactose intolerance, Lapp-lactase deficiency, and/or glucose-galactose malabsorption (rare hereditary problems).
Before taking BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you had previously suffered from hypersensitivity reactions (to penicillins, cephalosporins, carbapenems, and/or other beta-lactam antibiotic agents), and/or have kidney problems (such as severe renal impairment), and/or liver problems (such as liver dysfunction).
BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET should be used with caution during pregnancy only if it is clearly necessary. It is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it may pass through breast milk.
BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET should be used with caution in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) which is also advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years/above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of taking BACTOMIN 375MG TABLET are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, itching, and/or rashes. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
