AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION contains Azithromycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Macrolides. It is used in children to treat infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which includes chest, throat, and nasal infections such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis.
It is also used to treat ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin & soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children which is also indicated for use to treat sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea) in affected child.
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children allergic to azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), and/or ketolides.
Before administering AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if the child has diabetes, myasthenia gravis (condition marked by weak muscles), heart problems, liver problems (such as impaired hepatic function), and/or kidney problems (such as impaired renal function).
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of administering AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION in child are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, and/or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms becomes worse in the child.
Used in paediatric patients:
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to growth) that results in its destruction thus preventing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
Administer AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION in child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of treatment for your child depending on child’s age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop administering AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION and consult your doctor immediately in case the child experiences:
Ask the child to drink adequate amount of water and include plenty of fruits and vegetables in child’s diet. Constipation should go away after few days followed by its administration in the child. If it persists for longer time or becomes severe then consult your doctor.
Ask the child to drink lots of fluids such as water or fruit juices so that the child is sufficiently hydrated. Do not administer any medicine to treat the condition. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve or becomes worse.
Ask the child to take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Headaches usually go away after first week of administration of AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION. If it lasts more than a week or becomes severe, then inform your doctor.
Have the child take this medicine with or just after a meal or a snack. Let the child stick to simple meals and avoid having rich or spicy food.
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it is used only in children.
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women as it is used only in children.
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION should be administered with caution in children with kidney problems such as impaired renal function. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION should be administered with caution in children with liver problems such as impaired hepatic function. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.
Do not administer AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION if the child is allergic to azithromycin, other antibiotics such as erythromycin/clarithromycin (macrolides), ketolides, and/or any other ingredients of this medicine.
AZNEE 100MG SUSPENSION should be administered with caution in children with heart problems. Consult your doctor before administering the medicine to the child.
