What is AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP used for?
AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP is used in children to treat infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which include chest, throat, and nasal infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis). It is also used to treat ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin & soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children which is also indicated for use to treat sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.
How does AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP work?
AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to grow) that results in its destruction thus preventing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
What are the most common side effects of taking AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP?
The most common side effects of administering AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP in children are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, and/or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become worse in the child.
What do I do if I forgot to administer AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP to the child?
If you forget to administer AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP, then administer the medicine as soon as you can. Have the child take the next dose at the right time. Do not double the dose to make up for a forgotten dose in the child.
What happens to the child if a high dose AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP is administered?
If a child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of AZITUS XL 200MG SYRUP, then consult and inform your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
