What is AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION used for?
AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION is used in children to treat infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which include chest, throat, and nasal infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis). It is also used to treat ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin & soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children which is also indicated for use to treat sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.
How does AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION work?
AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to grow) that results in its destruction thus preventing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
What are the most common side effects of taking AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION?
The most common side effects of administering AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION in children are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, and/or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become worse in the child.
What do I do if I forgot to administer AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION to the child?
If you forget to administer AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION, then administer the medicine as soon as you can. Have the child take the next dose at the right time. Do not double the dose to make up for a forgotten dose in the child.
What happens to the child if a high dose AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION is administered?
If a child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of AZITUS 100MG SUSPENSION, then consult and inform your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
