What is AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID used for?
AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID is used in children to treat infections caused by bacteria and other micro-organisms which include chest, throat, and nasal infections (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, tonsillitis, sore throat and sinusitis). It is also used to treat ear infections (such as acute otitis media) and skin & soft tissue infections (such as an abscess or boil) in affected children which is also indicated for use to treat sexually transmitted diseases (caused by organisms such as chlamydia trachomatis/ Neisseria gonorrhoea) in the affected child.
How does AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID work?
AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis (essential for the bacteria to grow) that results in its destruction thus preventing its growth and spread of infection in affected individuals.
What are the most common side effects of taking AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID?
The most common side effects of administering AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID in children are stomach cramps, nausea, diarrhoea, flatulence, dizziness, headache, skin rash, and/or itching. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms become worse in the child.
What do I do if I forgot to administer AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID to the child?
If you forget to administer AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID, then administer the medicine as soon as you can. Have the child take the next dose at the right time. Do not double the dose to make up for a forgotten dose in the child.
What happens to the child if a high dose AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID is administered?
If a child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of AZITHRAL XL 200MG LIQUID, then consult and inform your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital to manage overdose symptoms.
