What is AUXITROL Capsule used for?

AUXITROL Capsule is a synthetic form of vitamin D used to treat calcium deficiency in people with kidney disease, hypocalcemia, and hypoparathyroidism. This medication is also used to treat osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. AUXITROL Capsule controls the intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate, and thus maintains strong bones.

How to take AUXITROL Capsule?

The dosage of AUXITROL Capsule prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

AUXITROL Capsule can be taken with or without food.

If your physician has instructed or directed you to take AUXITROL Capsule medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses unless otherwise directed.

Any medication taken in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of AUXITROL Capsule, seek medical attention immediately.
