INTRODUCTION

ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET is a combination of Atorvastatin and Fenofibrate which belongs to the group of medicines called Hypolipidemic drugs. It is used to treat hyperlipidemia (high blood lipid levels) in addition to proper diet, exercise and lifestyle changes.

Hyperlipidemia is a condition characterized by increased levels of bad cholesterol and triglycerides (fats) in the blood. If left untreated, these fat particles get deposited in the blood vessels and may obstruct blood flow through them, leading to various complications such as heart attack or stroke.

By reducing lipid levels in the blood, ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET can also be used to prevent the risk of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis and other circulatory disorders.

Take ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET with meals. Along with the treatment, follow the diet, exercise and lifestyle changes instructed by your doctor to achieve better results. Avoid drinking large amounts of alcohol while taking ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET. If you are diabetic, work on your blood sugar levels and keep them under control.

Before taking ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have thyroid problems, diabetes, high blood pressure or a family history of muscle disorders.

ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe liver or kidney problems. It is also not suitable for use in patients who had recently taken an antibiotic called Fusidic acid to treat bacterial infections.

Do not take ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. Women of childbearing potential must use a suitable contraceptive method to avoid pregnancy while undergoing therapy with ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET. If you accidentally become pregnant while taking ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET, stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor immediately.

During treatment with ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET, your doctor will periodically monitor your liver functions, kidney functions, blood sugar levels, muscle functions and blood cholesterol levels to avoid the risk of unwanted side effects.

The most common side effects of taking ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET are headache, constipation, bloating, muscle pain, neck pain, inflammation of the nose, throat pain and liver problems. Consult your doctor if they bother you.

You must also inform your doctor if you experience severe unexplained muscle pain or weakness with fever, weakness or reddish-brown urine after taking ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET.

USES OF ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET

It is used to:

  • Treat high blood cholesterol levels
  • Prevent the risk of heart attack, stroke or atherosclerosis

HOW ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET WORKS

ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET is a lipid-lowering medicine. It reduces the levels of bad cholesterol (VLDL and LDL) and triglycerides in the body by modulating the actions of certain enzymes that are involved in lipid metabolism (such as HMG-CoA reductase and lipoprotein lipase). Additionally, it can also reduce the amount of cholesterol absorbed in the body.

By lowering the blood lipid levels, ATROCARD F 10MG TABLET prevents fat deposition within the blood vessels and reduces the chances of heart attack, stroke, atherosclerosis or other circulatory problems.
