ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET contains Aripiprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-psychotic drugs. It is used to treat schizophrenia, especially in the adolescent patients (aged between 13-17 years). Schizophrenia is a mental disorder which affects a person’s ability to think, feel and behave correctly. It is characterized by seeing or hearing things which are not present and abnormal thoughts or behavior.
ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET can also be used either as a monotherapy or as an adjuvant to treat mania (sudden extreme sense of happiness or hyperactivity) in children (aged 10 years or older). It can also treat Tourette’s disorder (tic disorder) or irritability associated with Autistic Disorder in children (aged between 6-18 years). ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET can be given as an adjunctive therapy to treat depression (major depressive disorder) in the adult patients.
Take ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET as directed by your physician. Do not skip any dose or stop taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET without consulting your doctor. While taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET, do not exercise excessively and avoid exposing yourself to hot climate. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration.
Before taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET inform your doctor you have diabetes, heart problems, fits or blood clots in the body. It is strictly not recommended for use in elderly patients having dementia-related psychosis (a disorder that affects memory, thinking and social abilities).
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET, as it could make you feel more dizzy or drowsy. Consult your doctor before taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET, if you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant or breastfeeding.
ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET may increase your blood sugar or cholesterol levels, therefore your doctor would periodically monitor your blood glucose and cholesterol levels as a precaution.
Patients taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET must inform their doctor if they develop any unusual mood changes, increased sex drive, excessive gambling, suicidal thoughts, or worsening depression.
The most common side effects of taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET are excessive saliva secretion, uncontrollable muscle movements, dizziness, sleepiness or headache. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect bothers you.

ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET is an antipsychotic medication. It works by regulating the release and uptake of certain chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) in the brain that affects thoughts, emotions, body movements, and behaviour. As a result, it improves your ability to think, controls your emotions and body movements and stabilizes your mental health.
Take ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without meals.
For Tablets: Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
For Mouth Dissolving Tablets: Place the medicine beneath the tongue and close your mouth until it dissolves completely.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and mental state.
Do not stop taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET without consulting your doctor, even if you feel better after few days of therapy.
Stop taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET and consult your doctor if you experience any of the following side effects such as:
Nausea and vomiting:
Take ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET with or just after a meal or a snack. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if you continue to feel nauseating for a prolonged period.
Diarrhoea:
Hydrate yourself by drinking plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juices. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not take any anti-diarrheal medicines to treat diarrhea on your own. Consult your doctor if your diarrhea persists for a prolonged period.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET should be used in breastfeeding women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Your doctor will evaluate the risks and benefits of the therapy for you and decide whether ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET should be continued or not depending upon your condition. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you experience dizziness or blurred vision after taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET as it could make you feel more dizzy or drowsy.
Do not take ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET if you are allergic to aripiprazole.
ARIFRIL 15MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients having heart problems (such as history of myocardial infarction or stroke, or abnormal blood pressure). Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
